Little ibex prepares for the Atlantic Ocean crossing with ARC+

The ARC+ fleet is gathering in Las Palmas. Together with 25 other boats little ibex will go across the Atlantic Ocean. She decorates the boat with flags. It is quite some work to knot them all together, but it sure looks pretty.

The crossing from Gibraltar to Las Palmas was good fun. But the flag is a little bit worn. Maybe it was more wind than expected. It would now be best to relax in the pool. But while in the marina of Las Palmas, little ibex’ pool is used as cockroach prevention center (shoe cleaning) to avoid bringing eggs or critters onto the bot when coming back from one of the trips to land.

Finally, the real preparations start. Little ibex goes for a brief shopping trip – not that hard to guess where she has been. She also checks the safety equipment and sets up the SSB radio. And there was an Air-Sea-Rescue demonstration by the Salvamento Maritimo in Las Palmas.

Just a few more days to go until the start on 8 November. Excitement builds up!!
