Little ibex crossed the Atlantic as part of the ARC+ fleet. Besides the safety component of crossing with this rally, the ARC+ is also a friendly and fun cruising competition.
As the boats joining the ARC+ are quite different, the participating yachts are given World Cruising Club handicaps prior to the start. A time correction factor or handicap allows reasonable competition between different sized cruising boats, makes and models.
After a total of 2.104 nautical miles from Cape Verde little ibex arrived in St Lucia. Here she crosses the finish line which will in the end make her reach 2nd place. Who would have guessed that a mountain animal can be such a good sailor?
Of course, the boat had a big part in it as well. She is a fast one and looks beautiful in all settings.
Little ibex made a lot of friends in the ARC+ community. She enjoyed their company in different settings: sundowners, snorkeling or swinging from the boat.
